Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy explains how UGATV collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use our mobile application and the ugatv.app website. By using the app you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who is responsible for your data
UGATV is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. For any question or request relating to this policy, contact us at hello@ugatv.app.
2. Personal data we collect
Account data
- Email address — to create your account, verify your sign-in and contact you about the service.
- Username and password — to give you secure access to your account. Authentication runs on Supabase; your password is stored as an irreversible hash and cannot be read by us in plain text.
Usage data
- Watch history and app usage data — what you watched, where you stopped, and your basic interactions inside the app.
Subscription data
- Subscription status and payment history — whether your Premium membership is active, its start and renewal dates, and a record of your purchases.
Advertising data
- Advertising ID (AAID — Android Advertising ID) and ad interaction data — used to serve banner and rewarded video ads inside the app. See section 4 below for detail.
Technical data
- IP address — processed by our content delivery network Bunny.net so that video content can be delivered to you securely and quickly.
- Device identifier (cryptographically hashed) — your device identifier is never stored in its raw form; we keep only a one-way hash of it. This data is processed exclusively to prevent fraud and abuse of the service. See section 8 below for detail.
What we do not collect
We do not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone or camera, and we do not collect precise (GPS-based) location data. Please note that our advertising provider may derive an approximate location from your IP address.
3. How we use your data
- To provide the streaming service and to create and manage your account;
- To let you continue watching from where you left off;
- To deliver video content securely and without interruption;
- To verify and manage your Premium subscription status;
- To serve ads in the free tier and measure ad performance;
- To keep your account secure and to prevent fraud and abuse of the service;
- To improve the user experience and the app itself;
- To send you service-related notices and announcements.
4. Advertising and Google AdMob
The free tier of UGATV is ad-supported. We use the third-party advertising service Google AdMob to serve those ads.
- Banner ads and rewarded video ads are shown inside the app.
- For this purpose your device's Advertising ID (AAID) is collected and shared with Google AdMob.
- Google processes this identifier and your ad interactions to select, deliver and measure ads under its own privacy policy. You can review how Google uses data in advertising at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
You stay in control of your ad settings. On your Android device, go to Settings → Google → Ads to turn off personalised advertising, or to reset or delete your advertising ID. No ads are shown once you move to a Premium subscription.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Premium subscriptions are purchased through Google Play. The payment itself is handled entirely by Google Play — your credit or debit card details are never passed to UGATV and are not stored by us.
We store only your subscription status (active, expired, cancelled) and your purchase history. We need this to verify your access to Premium content and to resolve support requests.
6. Data sharing and our service providers
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Your data is not transferred to anyone other than the parties listed below:
- Supabase — our database, authentication and hosting infrastructure. Stores your account and usage data on our behalf.
- Bunny.net — our content delivery network (CDN). Processes your IP address so that video content can be delivered to you securely and quickly.
- Google AdMob — our advertising provider. Receives your Advertising ID (AAID) and ad interaction data in order to select and display ads.
- Google Play — handles subscription purchases and billing.
- Competent authorities, where a public body or court makes a lawful and properly formed request under applicable law.
7. How long we keep your data
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account or submit a deletion request, your personal data is permanently erased from our systems within 30 days at the latest. The single exception is the pseudonymised hashed records described in section 8 below. Billing records we are legally required to retain are kept for the period prescribed by applicable law.
8. Deleting your account and data
You may request deletion of your account and personal data at any time. You can delete your account inside the app via Profil → Hesabımı Sil (Profile → Delete My Account), or request deletion by emailing hello@ugatv.app. See our Account Deletion Request page for step-by-step instructions.
Records kept after deletion: pseudonymised security hashes
When your account is deleted, your email address, username, password, watch history and all other personal data are permanently erased. However, cryptographically hashed, pseudonymised identifiers derived from both your email address and your device identifier are retained.
These records exist solely to prevent fraud and abuse: they stop users from deleting and re-creating accounts in order to reset their free video quota. The hashes are one-way and irreversible — your email address and device identifier cannot be recovered from them, they cannot be used to contact you, they are never used for marketing, and they are never shared with third parties. The lawful basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in protecting the integrity of the service.
We describe these records as pseudonymised rather than anonymous: because a hash can be matched by verification, it remains personal data under the GDPR and the KVKK, so this policy — and your rights under section 10 — continue to apply to it.
9. Data security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss and misuse. Data is held on Supabase infrastructure, video is delivered over encrypted connections through Bunny.net, and passwords are stored as irreversible hashes. That said, no transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
10. Your rights
Under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK No. 6698) and, where applicable, the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Know whether your personal data is being processed;
- Request information about that processing;
- Learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly;
- Have incomplete or inaccurate data corrected;
- Request erasure or destruction of your data;
- Receive a copy of your data (data portability);
- Restrict or object to processing.
Send any request to hello@ugatv.app and we will respond within 30 days at the latest.
11. Children's privacy
UGATV is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If we become aware that we hold such data, we delete it without delay. If you believe a child's data has been provided to us, please contact us.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If a change is significant, we will notify you in the app or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
